Responsible for selling products or services to targeted customers, tracking down qualified leads, and converting them into customers.
Sells the company’s products or services, utilizing interpersonal skills to understand customer needs. Some work in-house, while others travel to acquire new customers.
Focuses on client acquisition and retention, maintaining communication with clients and staying informed about industry trends. Analytical skills, and experience as a junior sales team member are ideal qualifications.
Builds and maintains client relationships, using in-depth knowledge of products and services. Manages customer support, introduces new offerings, and may lead the sales team. A bachelor’s degree in business administration or marketing is preferred.
Oversees the entire sales department, managing specific sales teams or groups. Monitors team sales, mentors team members, develops sales plans, and facilitates communication with upper management. Essential skills include a proven record of closing deals, leadership, communication, and strategic planning. A degree in business or marketing is preferred.
